SAS Crew tips: Chicago

There are plenty of reasons to visit Chicago. Take a swim in Lake Michigan, shop along the Magnificent Mile maybe or enjoy a high-altitude meal to name but three. Flight Attendant Louise Andersson shares her favorite places to visit.

Chicago River Cruise

I would strongly recommend taking a trip along the river. The tour will give you lots of interesting knowledge about Chicago’s past and especially about the architecture of the city.

875 North Michigan Avenue

Formerly known as the John Hancock Center, here you can experience beautiful 360° views from the top of this 344m-tall building. Besides the magnificent views, you also have the opportunity to drink a glass of wine in the building’s fine bar and restaurant.

For sports fans

To watch the world’s greatest athletes in action is always hugely entertaining, even if you’re not a massive fan. Chicago is home to the NBA’s Bulls, the Blackhawks ice hockey team, the NFL's Bears and the Cubs and White Sox baseball teams.

The Peninsula

If you’re looking for a great place to eat brunch, this is the place to go. It has a lovely atmosphere that makes it almost impossible to leave. I can easily spend almost half a day enjoying brunch at this place watching the world go by.

Ralph Lauren restaurant

This place is right next door to the world’s largest Ralph Lauren store. The first Ralph Lauren restaurant, the food here is inspired by American classics, such as steaks, chops, salads and sandwiches.
